Once a found corner-store church in Queens, the Sanctuary of Hope, now deterritorialized, functions by obtaining peripheral spaces with which to engage the public.
The process of deterritorialization is the very essence of the project. Congregation, lines of flight, and the transfiguration of the existing environment are all aspects of this process.
The resettlement and restructuring of the elements of the church onto the raw slate of the city are machines by which meaning is generated.
